Preparing, T-8 days

How do I even start to pack for 6 months? I don't want to bring too much because I want to bring things back...but I'm already sure I'll forget a thousand things. The longest I've ever been away is two months and I thought I had to pack a lot for that!

So far, I'm trying to pack mostly dresses and skirts, because I get hot really easily. Beyond that it's kind of a mad scramble. I'm trying to put together a little booklet of guitar tabs that I'll want while I'm abroad, but I'm horrible at finding tabs that have no bar chords (because I really really can't do bar chords). I've packed up my kindle with a fair number of books but I need a few more if anyone has suggestions. Packing up my ipod is another story, I'm going to be gone for 5 months and over that amount of time, I usually go through 10 or so new artists that I fall in love with. Hopefully what I have on my ipod now will suffice, but I really don't know.

Because I am notoriously rotten at communication...

I've decided it would be to the benefit of all (especially future me) to have something that documents my activities in the upcoming 6 months. Everyone is welcome to tune in or out as one pleases but I think it will be great (for me) to have something to look back on down the line and remember all the incredible things I will be experiencing. In the next three weeks, I will be documenting my preparations as they are altogether different from any preparations I've made for prior month-or-so-long trips.

I am entirely excited to be going to Ghana but I am starting to feel some nervousness about the sheer differences in culture - much unforeseen nervousness. Nonetheless, I couldn't be happier that, finally, Me kƆ (I'm going!!!)
